Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts in the Mount Joy area recently collected 976 bags of food as part of Scouts BSA's national Scouting for Food program, which is conducted each fall. The Scouts hung bags on the doors of every house in their community and collect the filled bags a week later.

A total of 55 Mount Joy-area Scouts participated in the effort. They gave the donations to the Mount Joy Food Bank.
