The local Civil Air Patrol squadron at Lancaster Municipal Airport has announced that it will not hold its regular Monday night meetings out of concerns related to COVID-19. Instead, the squadron will resume virtual cadet meetings. The edict to not meet in person will remain in effect until further notice.

Additionally, four teenage members of the Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304 received awards during a previous Monday meeting at Lancaster Airport.

Cadet Staff Sgt. Trevor Jones was presented the Wright Brothers Certificate recognizing his advancement through the cadet ranks. Cadet Senior Airman Aaron Keohane was promoted to his current rank and presented the Mary Felk Ribbon. Senior Airman Mary Weinheimer was presented her Red Service Ribbon representing two years of membership. Cadet Airman 1st Class Jonathan A. McNally was not present but was to be presented his new rank and the "Hap" Arnold Ribbon later.

Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace education subjects, and physical and character development as they advance through the ranks. They are currently engaged in a program that will earn them the Model Rocketry Badge for their Air Force-type uniforms.
