Organizers of the Columbia Ryder Cup presented the Columbia Public Library with a check for $2,000 on Dec. 5. The donation came from the proceeds of the 2021 Columbia Ryder Cup.

The Columbia Ryder Cup was first played in 2020 as an event for local golfers to compete in a two-team event. The 2021 Ryder Cup hosted two 48-person events, in which two groups of 24 people competed at two separate times during the year at local golf courses. The Columbia Ryder Cup has aspirations for upcoming years of continuing to expand the number of players, as well as raising money to help support local charities.
