Hershey Area Playhouse has announced its 2022 season. All performances will take place at the Playhouse, 830 Cherry Drive, Hershey.

The season will begin with "Stage Kiss" from Thursday, Feb. 10, to Sunday, Feb. 20. The show tells the story of two actors with a history who lose touch with reality as the onstage story follows them offstage.

The Unforgettable Big Band will perform at the Playhouse on April 1 and 2, featuring local pianist Lindy Mack. The tribute to Bob Hope will feature music by Les Brown and Doris Day.

"Hot 'n' Cole: A Cole Porter Celebration!" will be presented from May 19 to 22. This production weaves together more than 50 Cole Porter classics.

"The Wedding Singer" will take the stage from July 14 to 24. Based on the Adam Sandler movie of the same name, "The Wedding Singer" is a romantic musical with an '80s score.

The fall youth musical will be "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella: Youth Edition," with a run from Oct. 14 to 16. Students will have the opportunity to perform the classic fairy tale on the Playhouse stage for adults and children alike.

Also in October, the Playhouse will bring the musical "Sweeney Todd" to the stage from Oct. 27 to Nov. 6. In this dark tale, an unjustly exiled barber returns to 19th-century London to seek vengeance against the judge who wronged him. This musical features the music of Stephen Sondheim.

Rounding out the Playhouse's anniversary season will be the Christmas show "Doublewide Texas Christmas," with performances from Dec. 1 to 11. In this show, the residents of a new, tiny town in Texas learn that their official incorporation papers are in jeopardy.
