Students Of The Month Announced

Lower Dauphin High School seniors Ethan Espenshade and Alicia Jones were named Students of the Month for November 2021 by the Rotary Club of Hummelstown.

Espenshade is four-year member of the boys' volleyball team, which won a state and district championship last season. He is a three-year manager for the girls' volleyball team. He has also been a member of the Believers in the Gospel for four years and the National Honor Society for three years. Espenshade is also a member of the Computer Science Honor Society and was involved with Students Against Destructive Decisions and the Young Republicans.

In the community, Espenshade is active with Deep Rivers Church in Hummelstown, where he is the sound board manager. He is the son of Nathan and Eileen Espenshade. He plans to attend college or university and major in computer science.

Jones is active in the high school's theater program, having participated in every play and musical as well as Dramapalooza and the Thespian Society, where she is vice president. She is the president and a three-year member of the National Honor Society, vice president and a three-year member of the English National Honor Society, president and a two-year member of the Spanish National Honor Society, and a four-year member of the National Science Honor Society. Jones is a four-year member of the Young Democrats, the Volunteen Club, and MiniTHON. She is a three-year member of the Garden Club and Debate Club. She is also participating in Youth and Government this year and the school's GSA chapter.

In the community, Jones volunteers at her church and has studied dance for the past 10 years. She is the daughter of Linda and Kenneth Jones. Jones plans to attend a four-year college or university and major in political science or economics with the goal of pursuing a career in law.
