Jewel David Ministries Counseling Center, a nonprofit organization based in Elizabethtown, was awarded a grant from the Elizabethtown HUB to offer a free, online mental and emotional distress assessment to the community.

The assessment will be available from Wednesday, Jan. 5, through Monday, Jan. 31, at Community Cupboard of Elizabethtown, 61 E. Washington St.; Hope Within Ministries, 4748 E. Harrisburg Pike, Elizabethtown; and Cornerstone Youth Center, 95 S. Wilson Ave., Elizabethtown. It is free and takes about 10 minutes to complete on the electronic tablet that will be available to use.

The community member will then be contacted via phone by a counselor, who will provide a high-level overview of the results and share a list of community counseling resources. Counseling will not be provided as part of the assessment, but a copy of the report will be provided to participants so they may take it to a counselor.
