An Intro to Medicare class for individuals about to turn 65 will be held on Thursday, Jan. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Senior Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. The basics of Medicare will be explained, including how and when to sign up for Medicare, what is covered by the different parts of Medicare (A, B, C, and D), and what the difference is between a Medicare Supplemental (Medigap) and a Medicare Advantage plan. The class will walk through how to find a plan that best fits one's needs.

A Fused Glass Class, for people age 10 and up, will be offered on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. Attendees will select two designs from several options to design two hearts. The hearts will be suspended from a white glass bar that participants design. Designs will be placed in a kiln and returned to the students the following week. The instructor, Kathleen Forney, is a fused glass artist in Elizabethtown and has been creating designs in glass for years.

Zumba Gold will take place on Wednesdays, Feb. 2 to March 23, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center. This program is geared to deconditioned people or beginner exercisers and active older adults. Judy McMillen will instruct.

GEARS will hold the 2022 Elizabethtown Area Facility Scheduling Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center. This is a mandatory meeting for leagues, associations, and groups interested in utilizing Elizabethtown Borough, West Donegal Township, Mount Joy Township, or Elizabethtown Area School District athletic fields and facilities. Organizations should have a representative attend to review regulations and facility stipulations and to discuss facility requests. Representatives should bring specific dates, times, and field requests to the meeting for consideration. For request forms or additional information, contact GEARS or kareneberly@getintogears.org. There is no fee to attend the meeting.

An Indoor Field Hockey Clinic will be held on Saturdays, Feb. 5 to March 12, from 8 to 9 a.m. for those in kindergarten through grade two and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. for children in grades three to five. Sessions will take place in the gym at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. The clinic will focus on teaching the basics of the game through a variety of drills, fun competitions, and small games. Hockey sticks and balls will be available for use. Shinguards are recommended. The fee includes a T-shirt and mouthguard.

The 15th annual Daddy-Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Marriage Hub, 18 N. Market St., Elizabethtown. Fathers, uncles, older brothers, or family friends are invited to escort girls to the event. There is a fee per father-daughter pair, with a discount for additional daughters. The registration deadline is Feb. 5.
