Library Friends Plan Book Sale

The Friends of Lancaster Public Library will hold their Winter ReSort Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, and Saturday, Feb. 12, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13. The event will take place at the Book ReSort Center, 225 N. Marshall St., Lancaster.

The sale will offer more than 20,000 books, both fiction and nonfiction. Some items will be individually priced. Vinyl records, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks will also be for sale, as well as a variety of puzzles and board games. On Feb. 13, items will be half-price.

Face masks that cover the nose and mouth are required inside the Book ReSort regardless of vaccination status. Shoppers must enter the sale via the Book ReSort's side door, accessible from Fulton Street. To allow for social distancing inside the building, there will be fewer tables set up.

Volunteers will continuously restock the tables from the large inventory of donated items. The Marshall Street Bookstore will also be open during the sale.

All proceeds from the sale will directly benefit Lancaster Public Library. On-site free parking is available, and credit cards are welcome.

The Friends of the Lancaster Public Library hold several book sales each year that raise a total of nearly $200,000 for the library. Additionally, the Friends have two bookstores that are open year-round: the Marshall Street Bookstore, located at 225 N. Marshall St., which is also the location for donation processing, and the Juliana Bookstore, located on the first floor of the Lancaster City Branch.
