Mount Joy 4-H Club Sets Meeting

The Mount Joy 4-H Community Club will hold an organizational meeting on Monday, March 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 320 Musser Road, Mount Joy. In the case of inclement weather, the meeting will be rescheduled for Monday, March 21.

Youths ages 8 to 18 who are interested in joining the club should plan to attend, along with a parent or guardian, and should plan to stay for the entire event. The evening will begin with registration, a project leader meet-and-greet, a snack and an activity for youths from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., followed by an informational meeting and project request from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.

The club will hold five additional meetings on the second Monday of each month from April through August. At the meetings, club members will participate in a business meeting, games, service projects, programs and activities and end-of-year recognition.

In addition to club meetings, participants will sign up to complete their choice of one or more projects, through which they will learn about a specific subject area. Project meetings will be held separately from club meetings. Some projects will have an additional age requirement or prerequisite and/or fee for supplies.

Participants will need to complete an enrollment form and project request form and pay club dues in order to participate. These materials can be submitted at the March 14 meeting. Additionally, youths will need to complete an online enrollment process. No new members will be admitted after March 21.
