Rec Center Posts Fitness And Diet Series

In celebration of National Nutrition Month, March, Lititz recCenter, 301 W. Maple St., Lititz, has announced its new wellness and fitness program, the Fitness & Diet (F&D) Series. This one-on-one program includes six 30-minute sessions with a registered dietitian and 10 personal training sessions, each 30 minutes, with a certified personal trainer. The F&D Series' goal is to help people stay healthy and fit and to increase awareness of the consequences of lifestyle-related diseases, such as high blood pressure, heart strokes, and diabetes.

During National Nutrition Month, Lititz recCenter encourages all local residents to take steps toward better health, such as learning how to read nutrition facts labels, meeting with a registered dietitian to receive personalized nutrition advice, learning cooking and meal preparation skills, and trying foods from around the world. People may choose healthful recipes to make during the week and use a grocery list to shop for nutritious foods. They are also advised to enjoy meals with friends or family when possible. Residents are encouraged to maintain a healthy eating pattern and stay physically active throughout the year.
