The plant sale sponsored by Penn State Master Gardeners of Lancaster County will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. An online presale will run until Wednesday, April 20, featuring garden kits for butterflies, sun, shade, and pollinators chosen by Master Gardeners.

The in-person sale will also include numerous varieties of native plants, plants for sun, shade, pollinators, perennials, and annuals. Tomato and pepper plants as well as a variety of herbs for vegetable lovers will also be available.

New this year, there will be educational booths on Asian jumping worms, vermicomposting, native plants, terrariums, lawn and turfgrass care, and bees. Also featured will be a demonstration on DIY starter pots, as well as information on the garden hotline. Soil test kits will be for purchase, and there will be an information desk for people to ask garden questions.

Plant buyers should plan to come early for the best selection. Cash and checks are preferred, but credit card payments will be accepted. Presented by Penn State Master Gardeners of Lancaster County, the sale supports the many programs offered to the community, including a garden hotline, demonstration gardens, and youth garden programs.
