Helicopter Pilot To Speak At Meeting

The Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table will meet on Thursday, April 14, at Vietnam Veterans of America, Michael Novosel MOH Chapter 542, 8000 Derry St., Harrisburg, at 7:30 p.m. Following a brief business meeting, Chieu V. Le, from Manheim Township, will discuss his experiences as a member of the South Vietnamese military, flying Huey helicopters.

Le joined the South Vietnamese military in 1969 and, once he received the necessary training, served as a Huey gunship pilot with the 84th Tactical Wing/4th Air Division until Saigon fell in April 1975. After immigrating to the U.S., he was eventually able to fly Hueys again, this time for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, retiring in 2006.

The meeting is open to all persons interested in the history of the Vietnam War. Donations will be accepted. For more information, contact Richard Burton at 717-545-2336 or centralpavietnamrt@verizon.net or visit http://www.centralpavietnamroundtable.com.
