Charity Motorcycle Ride Posted

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR), an international charity motorcycle event, will be hosted in York for the third year on Sunday, May 22, joining almost 700 cities and 104 countries worldwide. The DGR, which began in New Zealand in 2012, raises money and awareness for prostate cancer research and men's mental health programs/suicide prevention. The event operates in conjunction with the Movember Foundation. In its history, the event has raised a total of over $26 million.

A group of motorcycle riders from York had been participating in the Lancaster Chapter of the DGR for several years, riding together as the White Roses to represent York. Moved by the feeling of community and the power of the event, William Whitney applied to begin hosting the ride in York.

On Sunday, May 15, a benefit car and motorcycle show will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at Belmont Bean Co., 18 S. Belmont St., York, to raise funds for the ride.

More information about the ride, including registration and donation details, can be found at http://www.gentlemansride.com. Information is also available by searching for "DGR York PA, USA - 2022" on Facebook.
