Earth Day Project Held At Horn Farm Center

Through a continuation of projects initiated by the Giant Company's Reduced Emissions Program, developed in partnership with GreenPrint, a beautification project was held at Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education in York this Earth Day. Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and local county affiliate member Keep York Beautiful helped coordinate the event.

On April 20, Horn Farm Center hosted 30 volunteers from the Giant Company who planted approximately 250 trees as a riparian buffer, pulled weeds, spread gravel and cleared brush.

Saved from industrial development, Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education is committed to restoring ecological health to both the fields and semi-wild spaces on the farm, while providing nutritious food to the community.

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, a state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful Inc., has more than 30 years of experience in organizing volunteer-driven community improvement events. For more information, visit http://www.keeppabeautiful.org.

Through Giant's Reduced Emissions Program, for every gallon of fuel purchased at a Giant or Martin's fuel station, GreenPrint invests in carbon projects across the globe, which offsets up to 30% of the customer's tailpipe carbon emissions.
