Summer Art Club Planned For Youths

The 4-H Expressive Arts Club of Penn State Extension 4-H in Lancaster County will offer a summer 4-H Art SPIN club. Youths who are ages 8 to 18 as of Jan. 1 can participate in a hybrid format of one virtual lesson per month and one field trip each month. The virtual lessons will take place on Tuesdays, June 28, July 26, and Aug. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. The field trips will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, June 22; Friday, July 8; and Wednesday, Aug. 17. Transportation will not be provided.

Youths will meet other art enthusiasts, learn new skills, and create artwork both at home and on location with field trips to the Haines Shoe House, the Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, and the Wrightsville Commons Park. The program will encourage the four H's - head, hands, heart, and health. A supply list, calendar, and syllabus will be sent to participants after registration.

To register by Wednesday, June 15, contact Patti Van Brederode at pev3@psu.edu or 717-394-6851. Those whose children are not 4-H members and would like to participate may contact Van Brederode for details on registering children with 4-H. The club is free for 4-H members. There is a fee for nonmembers; the fee includes 4-H membership.

To request any type of accommodation, contact Brederode by phone in advance of the program.
