"Sounds Of Strasburg" Concerts Planned

The "Sounds of Strasburg" summer concert series will return to the Strasburg Community Park Amphitheater stage on select Saturdays beginning June 25. All performances will start at 6:30 p.m. The amphitheater is located within the nature preserve at 151 Precision Ave., Strasburg.

"Nothing welcomes summer quite like the sound of music in the park, and we are so excited to see the community bring their blankets and lawn chairs to relax and enjoy our great lineup this year," said Patti Creighton, concert committee member. "One of my favorite features of our concert series is the wide age range of audience members it draws. I love seeing children dancing on the grassy hill with their families, adult fans arriving early to see their favorite band, and groups of seniors laughing and chatting together, enjoying the perfect summer combination of nature and good music."

Each year, the Strasburg Community Parks Foundation strives to create a lineup featuring a variety of artists and genres.

The 2022 series will open on June 25 will a performance by Big Fat Meanies. Voted Best Rock Band in central Pennsylvania, the eight-piece group is based in Lancaster and features the vocals of Brenna Diehl and horn-driven melodies. The band's latest EP is "Band Hand."

Servant Stage Company will present "Rock Around the Clock" on July 9. This new, original revue pays tribute to the rock 'n' roll hits of the '50s and '60s and feel-good summer fun. The professional-quality touring production features a live rock band and iconic dances of days gone by.

The five-piece group Steven Courtney Band of Friends will perform on Aug. 6. Multi-award-winning children's musician and family entertainer Steven Courtney will present a blended performance of classic rock 'n' roll tunes for children and families.

Fast Lane will close out the series on Aug. 20 with a blend of country and Southern rock. This four-piece group fronted by singer and guitarist Bob Basseglia has shared the stage with Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, The Marshall Tucker Band and others.

Food and frozen treat vendors will be available on-site; alcohol and coolers are prohibited.
