The Solanco High School Odyssey of the Mind team finished sixth out of approximately 50 teams competing at the recent World Finals, held at Iowa State University. Sixth is the first position that is publicly announced at the awards ceremony at the 14,000-seat Hilton Coliseum, making this year's team the first Solanco team to reach the podium. Previous Solanco teams finished 13th out of 42 in 2014 and seven out of 15 in 2021.

While at the competition, the team met and interacted with students from across the United States, along with Poland, Switzerland, and Korea. On the way to and from Iowa State University, the Solanco students visited the U.S. Air Force Museum, the Museum of the Grand Prairie, and the Phillips Park Zoo, and they solved their way out of an escape room.

Participating students were Dennis Kretzing, Emma Kline, Autumn Butler, Aidan Todd, and Alexianna Groff. Team members Bridget Gracie Hartigan and Chris George were unable to attend.
