Student Named To All-State Chorus

The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) selected Kyveli Georges to the PMEA All-State Chorus, recognizing her as one of the top choir students in Pennyslvania.

As a member of the all-state choir, Georges took part in the 2022 PMEA All-State Festival held at the Kalahari Convention Center in the Pocono Mountain region. The all-star ensemble was directed by Amelia Garbisch, director of music education and assistant professor of choral music at Bloomsburg University.

To be chosen for the all-state chorus, Georges completed several rounds of competitive auditions beginning with the District 7 Chorus Festival in January. After successfully auditioning at the district level, she performed in the PMEA Regional Chorus Festival in March. Georges auditioned for placement into the PMEA All-State Chorus at the regional festival.

PMEA, a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 4,500 members, is dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning, and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities.
