Oatman Takes On Summer Project

Olivia Oatman of Birdsboro is one of 15 students from various academic disciplines at Albright College, Reading, who are conducting Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE) projects over the summer. Oatman is a resident of Birdsboro.

Through ACRE projects, undergraduate students conduct research or pursue creative endeavors outside regular semester sessions. Student proposals must be accepted by a faculty review board and are rewarded with college stipends.

A graduate of Exeter Township Senior High School, Oatman is studying fashion/design and merchandising at Albright while working with MeeAe Oh-Ranck, instructor of fashion merchandising, on "Fashion Shouldn't Cost the Earth: re-Design Fashion Sustainability." In addition to their research, all ACRE recipients share their progress during ACRE events and weekly meetings throughout the summer. Finished work is expected to be presented in one or more presentations in the fall.
