Mount Joy Chef Wins Iron Chef Challenge

Marianne Magee, the chef for Juniper Village at Mount Joy, recently won an Iron Chef Challenge with her teammates. Magee, along with 14 other chefs from seven Pennsylvania assisted living communities, participated in a two-day culinary academy and Iron Chef Challenge hosted by the Navigator Group.

According to Kris Kishbaugh, regional culinary manager for Juniper Communities, topics of the academy and challenge included sustainability in the kitchen, preparation and enhanced plate presentations and enhancing food flavors.

In addition to Magee, Juniper chefs in attendance included Robert Wessner and Molly Tice, Juniper Village at Lebanon; Geraldo Dufort, Juniper Village at Paramus; and Sara Bliss and Penny Sheckler, Juniper Village at Brookline.
