LEMSA Partners With LG Health

Lancaster EMS (LEMSA) will offer athletic training services to its employees through a new partnership with Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health (LG Health). The partnership is the first of its kind for a local EMS public service agency to collaborate with a local health care system to offer athletic training services for workplace injury prevention and education.

LG Health Sports Medicine will provide athletic training services to EMS personnel that includes prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning. In addition to focusing on injury and illness trends within the workforce, the athletic trainer will also develop plans for employee engagement to promote wellness and a safe environment both physically and psychologically. The athletic trainer will coordinate with Lancaster EMS occupational health partners to monitor and manage the care of Lancaster EMS employees with work-related injuries.
