Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will offer special events to the community. Programs are open to the public, but preregistration is required by contacting 717-964-3808 or governordick@hotmail.com and providing a name and phone number. Attendees should meet at the Environmental Center. Programs are free unless otherwise stated.

Story Forest - Woodpeckers! will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5. Children of all ages will be able to enjoy a story time and craft. A fee applies.

Music on the Porch bluegrass jam will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. Attendees are encouraged to bring a stringed instrument if they have one, as well as a lawn chair.
