Training Center Schedules Series

Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center will host a series of talks on the problems and solutions regarding active shooters on Thursday, Aug. 18, and Friday, Aug. 19. The series will be delivered by Ed Monk, a 30-year combat veteran, law enforcement officer, and firearms instructor.

Three separate topics will be discussed. "A Study of the Active Shooter Threat & How We Can Minimize Victims" will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 18. On Aug. 19, "A School-Specific Study of the Active Shooter Threat: Planning and Training to Minimize Victims" will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and "Critical Law Enforcement Lessons - Learned From Active Shooter Attacks" will be offered from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Monk has been researching and presenting on active shooter safety for 14 years. In addition to providing training and presentations across the country, he has served as a consultant for school districts, churches, and businesses as they develop their policies, plans, and training.
