Patients R Waiting will hold its second annual Diversifying Doula Initiative Birthday Party on Saturday, Aug. 20, from noon to 3 p.m. at Binns Park on North Queen Street in downtown Lancaster. The organization will celebrate its families, babies, doulas, community, and supporters. There will be keynote speakers, live music from DJ Jones, vendors, giveaway drawings, and activities.

Patients R Waiting's mission is to eliminate health disparities by increasing diversity in medicine. Among its initiatives is a program providing free doula services to expectant Black and Latina women in Lancaster.
