Bands Plan Outdoor Concert

The Malta Band of Lancaster and Lampeter-Strasburg Community Band will present a two-hour performance on Sunday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Lampeter YMCA Amphitheater, 800 Village Road (Route 741), Lancaster. This event is the second of three free summer concerts in a series.

The Malta Band is directed by Bo Weaver. Selections may include "Lady Gaga Fugue," "March From 1941," P.D.Q. Bach's "Grand Serenade," "Curtain Call," "Gabriel's Oboe," and "Comedian's Gallop." The Community Band is directed by Howard Boots, former music educator in the Cocalico School District. Selections will include "March and Procession of Bacchus," "It Had Better Be Tonight," saxophone solo "Harlem Nocturne," "Reach Out I'll Be There," "Sway," "Teddy Trombone," "Theme From The Godfather," "Uncle Henry March," "Carry On My Wayward Son," and "Billboard March."

Attendees are advised to bring lawn chairs. In the case of rain, the concert will be moved to Lampeter United Methodist Church, 1101 Village Road, Lampeter.
