Fire Companies Plan Merger

Kinzer Fire Company 45 and Gordonville Fire and EMS Company 43 held their first joint meeting on July 11 to discuss the upcoming merger between the companies. Mission, vision, and values statements were presented and ratified by both companies. A steering committee was approved to make future decisions on behalf of the companies until the new entity and leadership is officially established.

The new organization will serve as the Pequea Valley Fire Department with a mission to "provide professional and responsive fire and EMS services to residents, businesses, institutions, and visitors of the Pequea Valley area." The two companies have already begun conducting joint training. They plan to finalize the merger by the end of the year.
