The Lancaster Church of the Brethren (COB), 1601 Sunset Ave., Lancaster, will hold a Back-to-School Kickoff Campfire Cookout on Sunday, Aug. 21, beginning at 1 p.m.

There will be an opportunity to roast hot dogs around fire pits and enjoy s'mores. There will also be games and a free school supply giveaway, and the Manheim Township Fire Rescue will be on-site. A blessing of the children as they prepare for a new school year will take place at 2:30 p.m.

Events will be held in shaded areas at the west end of the property. Food and drinks will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
