Local Library Posts Programs

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer programs and services to the community. Registration is required. For details and registration, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org.

Several story time programs will be offered. Baby and Toddler Story Time for children from birth to age 2 will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 28 to Nov. 16. Flinchbaugh's Orchard Story Times for children up to age 5 will be held on Tuesdays, Sept. 20 to Oct. 25, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Flinchbaugh's Orchard and Farm Market, Orchard Pavilion, rain or shine. Preschool Story Times for children ages 3 to 5 will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Fridays, Sept. 30 to Nov. 18.

Dementia Friends will present an information session at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the Community Room. Attendees will gain knowledge about dementia and how it affects people.

Tween programs for youths ages 9 to 12 will take place from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. On Sept. 13, the Danger Club will meet, and on Sept. 27, the Library Squad will discuss library programming for its age group.

Teen Spoiler Alert! is a book review group for teens ages 13 to 18. It will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Stitch and Chat! will gather from 6 to 7:45 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 1 and 15, to work on knitting and crochet projects or other stitching crafts in the Community Room.

Green Thumb Garden Talk with Melanie Markowski titled "Color in the Autumn Garden With Natives and Others" will take place on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the Community Room.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will hold a Fall Puzzle Swap on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Room. Visitors may purchase a 300-plus-piece jigsaw puzzle for a nominal price or swap one of theirs for one at the event.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will hold a fall used book, jewelry, puzzle, and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. The sale will take place at the Hellam Township Public Works Building across from Kreutz Creek Library.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library Branch Support Group will hold a gathering on Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room. Attendees will exchange ideas for fundraising events and to raise awareness of the library in the community.

Cookbook Discussion Group will meet from 6 to 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 22. The theme for September is "Spooktacular Food." Attendees should bring a sweet or savory prepared dish based on the chosen theme and a copy of their recipe and will share in the taste-testing with other cooking enthusiasts.
