GriefShare Group To Meet

A new GriefShare support group will resume in-person meetings at the Community House Conoy Township (formerly the Saltshaker Building), 2346 River Road, Bainbridge. The group will begin on Monday, Sept. 12, and continue through Monday, Dec. 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There will be a special section on coping with grief during the holidays.

GriefShare is a support group for those who have experienced the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. GriefShare consists of three key parts: a weekly video series, group discussion, and a workbook with exercises to complete at home.

The video series features experts on grief recovery topics such as "Is This Normal?" and "Why?" along with "Grief and Relationships," "Complicating Factors," and "Guilt and Anger." The group discussion aims to help attendees know that they are not alone on the journey of grief. The workbook reinforces the weekly session topics and is available for a set cost.

People from the Bainbridge area and surrounding communities are welcome to begin attending at any point. Each session is self-contained, so people do not need to attend in sequence. Call facilitators Karen Schatz at 717-951-9000 or Tina Gruber at 717-344-1531 for more information.

The GriefShare group is sponsored by Word of Life Chapel in Bainbridge.
