Troop 349 To Retire Flags

Scouts BSA Troop 349 will conduct its annual flag retirement ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Froelich Park in Mountville. The public is invited to attend.

Through the event, the Scouts aim to remember and celebrate fallen heroes and retire weathered American flags respectfully. Flags needing retirement may be brought to the event or dropped off at the Mountville VFW, 48 E. Main St.

Troop 349 runs an active, year-round program for boys and girls ages 10 to 17. Its units, 349B and 349G, are based out of Mountville and meet weekly, providing youths an opportunity to learn life skills through advancement, community service, and outdoor activities.

For more information about the Scouting program, contact committee chair Vanessa Reisig at 717-341-0028 or visit the troop website at http://www.three49.us.
