Mini-THON Club Plans Gold Out

In observation of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, September, Donegal High School's Mini-THON club will hold a Gold Out on Friday, Sept. 30, during the high school football game against Wyomissing. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and separate admission fees have been set for students and for adults. The school is located at 1025 Koser Road, Mount Joy.

During the event, monetary donations will be accepted to support Donegal's student-run Mini-THON club. The club helps to raise money for Four Diamonds, whose mission is to "conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research."

In advance of the game, Donegal High School students will be able to purchase Gold Out T-shirts, both for themselves and family members and friends, during lunchtime. Community members may also buy shirts at the game.

Mini-THONs are held at more than 200 high schools in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia. Last year's Mini-THONs raised a total of $5.7 million.
