Community Forest Panel Scheduled

Advice From the Community Forest: Ask Our Experts will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom. The live event will feature a panel of Penn State Extension urban foresters and personnel from the Bureau of Forestry, part of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). The panelists will address participant-submitted questions and scenarios related to municipal and community tree management, such as street and park trees and natural areas.

Before the panel discussion event, participants may submit their community forestry-related questions online via a survey link that will be provided immediately after registration. If time permits, questions can also be asked during the event.

The event will seek to give participants a better understanding of urban and community forestry issues, tree equity, and management strategies from across the commonwealth as the urban forestry team of experts presents best management practices, perspectives, and experience from municipal tree commissions and volunteer tree advocates. The program is designed for municipal officials, shade tree commissioners, urban foresters/municipal arborists, landscape architects, community planners, volunteer tree tenders, and community tree advocates.

There is no charge to participate. Registration is required to receive the link to access the webinar as well as to access the webinar recording. This event is sponsored in part by the DCNR.
