Hope Inspire Love, an anti-human trafficking nonprofit organization, has rescheduled its Freedom Walk for Saturday, Oct. 22. The event will now take place at Binns Park, 120 N. Queen St., Lancaster; it was originally set to be held in Musser Park on Oct. 1. The program will begin at 10 a.m., and the walk will take place from 11 a.m. to noon.

Freedom Walk is a local awareness event launched by Hope Inspire Love in 2019. It aims to raise awareness of trafficking and exploitation affecting women, men, and children in communities such as Lancaster, Reading, York, Lebanon, Lititz, Manheim, Myerstown, Norristown, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia.

Holding signs, people will walk silently, single-file for 2.5 miles on the streets and sidewalks of Lancaster city to remind the community that trafficking exists and to invite local residents to join efforts to put an end to this crime. Additionally, individuals will be able to learn more about human trafficking by visiting a Trafficking Simulation, an immersive experience where they will learn about a trafficking case. The event will also include a kids' zone, music, and food trucks.

In addition to Hope Inspire Love, several other anti-trafficking nonprofits will be represented at the event, showcasing the work and services they provide in the community to fight trafficking.
