James R. and Paula M. Haug of Columbia celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug 26. They met at the former First English Lutheran Church in 1966 and began dating in 1968. They were married in the chapel where they had met.

Mr. Haug retired from the Columbia Post Office, where he was a city letter carrier, and later from Lancaster Newspapers. Mrs. Haug is retired from QVC in Lancaster.

The couple has four daughters: Patricia Haug, Jessica Haug, Pamela Haug and Jennifer Jones, wife of James. There are nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
