CEF Slates Banquet

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of Lancaster County will hold a banquet on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center, 2300 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster.

CEF operates the after-school, Bible-based Good News Club held in public schools; the middle school JYou Connection clubs; and summer programs, including Camp Good News, vacation Bible school (VBS), and 5-Day Club.

At the banquet, author Joshua Cooley will speak about "Reclaiming the Joy of Next Generation Ministry." Cooley has 14 years of experience as a full-time children's minister and has written numerous books. His books for children and teens include the "Heroes of the Bible Devotional," "The One Year Devotions With Jesus," and "Creator, Father, King: A One Year Journey With God."

Cooley also delved into the spiritual journey of some Pennsylvania football players in "The Biggest Win: Pro Football Players Tackle Faith," featuring testimonies of six players form the Eagles' championship team. In addition, he co-authored "Believe It: My Journey of Success, Failure, and Overcoming the Odds," the memoir of 2017 NFL championship MVP Nick Foles. In addition to his full-time job and writing projects, Cooley is a part-time chaplain with Marketplace Chaplains, serving in North Carolina's Triangle area.

Tickets are free, and donations received at the banquet will offset expenses of the ministry, including Bibles for children, curricula and materials for programs, training of volunteers, room rental fees, and liability insurance.
