Rotary Club, Funck's Restaurant Set Fundraiser

The Rotary Club of New Holland has joined forces with Funck's Restaurant to host a Pints for Polio fundraising event on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Funck's, 365 W. Main St., Leola.

Since 1985, Rotary International has been fighting to eradicate polio, a deadly disease that is still endemic in two countries. Pints for Polio is a local effort by Rotary clubs around central Pennsylvania that are joining the fight. The money raised will go to Rotary International's PolioPlus Campaign. As an added bonus, every dollar that goes to PolioPlus will be matched 2-to-1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Individuals wishing to participate can visit Funck's Restaurant in Leola any time during the fundraiser on Oct. 25, and Funck's will donate 10% of its proceeds from all food and beverage purchases to PolioPlus.

The Rotary Club of New Holland was established in 1944. Anyone interested in making a difference in and around the New Holland area is encouraged to join. For more information, visit http://www.facebook.com/newhollandrotary or email the club at newhollandrotary@gmail.com.
