UMC Posts Spiritual Growth Program

The Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church (UMC) has launched a new program, the GROW Experience. Designed for lay persons as well as clergy, the program is intended to help participants to grow in their relationship with Christ and to grow as spiritual leaders.

The Conference's York District will offer the GROW Experience via Zoom, led by Kim Shockley, a Conference staff person who works closely with lay ministry and development.

The first half of the series will take place on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 6:30 p.m. and continue weekly through Thursday, Nov. 17. The book "Simple Harmony" by Larry Duggins must be read before the first session.

The second half will be offered on four Thursdays, with attendees choosing to participate on Jan. 5 to 26 or Jan. 12 to Feb. 2. For these classes, students will read the books "Hero Maker" and "Witness Your Why." The schedule will be confirmed at the first meeting.

There is a fee to participate, and attendance at all sessions is required. To register, people should email york@susumc.org and include their name, address, email, phone number and church name.
