Program To Focus On Gen. Edward Hand

Manheim Township Historical Society will host a program on Gen. Edward Hand on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. at Manheim Township Public Library, 595 Granite Run Drive, Lancaster.

Sam Slaymaker, executive director of Historic Rock Ford, will give a slideshow presentation on Hand's military career, accomplishments, and possible regrets. Slaymaker will also share why he believes that Hand was the Lancaster County resident who played the most pivotal role in America's struggle for independence.

Slaymaker and his wife, Laura, are residents of Manheim Township. He has served as executive director of Historic Rock Ford for 17 years.
