New Life Church To Celebrate 40 Years

New Life Assembly of God, 1991 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in Lancaster on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. The community is invited to help the church celebrate its past and build toward the future.

On Nov. 2, 1982, a group of 57 local residents met at the home of John and June Armstrong for a time of devotion, fellowship, and meaningful discussion. As they gathered, there was a keen awareness that God was planting something within the hearts of these born-again believers. By Dec. 28, 1982, a purchase lease agreement was signed for what would soon become New Life's first church home at 10 Witmer Road, and services began there on Jan. 9, 1983. New Life experienced rapid growth, resulting in the need to relocate in less than a decade. By the fall of 1992, the church had begun construction on its current location.

From its inception, New Life Assembly of God has been committed to preaching, teaching, and modeling the truth, reality, and love of Jesus Christ. New Life's mission is "to bring people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ."

New Life Church meets weekly, providing ministry to and for people of all ages. Its Sunday morning worship service and children's ministries begin at 10 a.m. Young adults gather at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, and youth and additional children's activities run simultaneously with the church's Wednesday adult Bible study at 7 p.m.

The church campus is located at the intersection of Old Philadelphia Pike and the Route 30 bypass. For more information, call 717-394-4015.
