The Belmont Theatre, 27 S. Belmont St., York, present the Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story, The Musical." This holiday show will run on Friday to Sunday, Dec. 2 to 4, and Thursday to Sunday, Dec. 8 to 11. Shows will start at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday. Sunday matinees start at 3 p.m. with an additional matinee on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m.

"A Christmas Story, The Musical," which received rave reviews on its Broadway run and was nominated for a Tony Award, is based on the movie classic. Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Ind., the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle.

Tickets can be purchased at http://www.thebelmont.org or by calling 717-854-5715 on weekdays. It is suggested to purchase tickets early since musicals normally sell out.

The Belmont Theatre has installed an ionization system that is said to kill viruses in the air, including COVID-19. Touchless soap and paper towel dispensers were also added. There is convenient, free parking.
