Armold Rushes 250 yards in Barons District 3 Win

In most football games it takes a bit before one side can seize control, that was not the case for Manheim Central and their November 11th clash with York Suburban. It took all of one play, the first play from scrimmage, for Central to flex their dominance in the form of a 65-yard untouched dash by Brycen Armold. A holding penalty on the Barons negated that run but the message was sent, it would be Armold & Manheim Central's night.

By the time the scoreboard clock hit all zeros, Central had cruised to a 63-14 win, the team's 60th District 3 victory and Armold had racked up 250 yards rushing on 21 carries, six of which ended with the junior standing in the endzone. Fellow junior Zac Hahn added 152 yards passing with two more touchdowns, giving Manheim a whopping 558 yards of offense. Jaden Weit helped round out the 406-yard rushing night with 105 yards and one last touchdown one three carries.

The Baron offense, behind Armold, did end that first drive with a touchdown, only this one was from five yards out. Armold added two more TD runs in the opening frame, one from seven yards and another from 46 yards, to give Manheim Central a 21-0 lead just 12 minutes into the game.

Hahn took over for a bit, picking up both his TD tosses in the second quarter. The first went to Rocco Dougherty (two catches - 44 yards) for a 44-yard score while Bode Sipe (four catches - 85 yards) covered 58 yards for the second. The Trojans busted up Central's shutout when Rylan Bratton hooked up with Alex Kefauver for a lighting quick 84-yard score and a 28-7 game.

Armold regained his perch at the controls, closing out the first half with TDs run of 41 and 27 yards, pushing the lead to 49-7. The action cooled in the second half thanks to the running clock but Armold was able to pick up one last score, a 41-yard scoot that made it 56-7. Suburban slipped their second TD of the game into the third quarter with Bratton hitting Dakota Shue for a 66-yard score. Manheim tacked on one last score when Weit broke free, covering 80 of his 105 yards on the way to the endzone.
