Library Adds Book Lockers

The Hershey Public Library has purchased book lockers through a grant award of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services in addition to support from the Friends of the Hershey Public Library. The book lockers will allow library users to pick up physical materials 24/7.

To access the lockers, library users will log into their online account and place a hold on items. After users receive a text or email with a five-digit passcode, they will visit the lockers and type the passcode or scan a QR code to retrieve their materials. They may also call the library during operating hours to request that items be placed into the lockers, and patrons will be given a code at the time of their call.

This project is made possible in part by ARPA funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries.
