Spelling Bee Results Posted

Seventh-grader Ben Rimert won the 2022 Martin Meylin Spelling Bee on Dec. 6. Cole Schneider, grade seven; Harry Skiles, grade eight; and Sophia Coon, grade six, took second, third, and fourth places, respectively. The top four qualified to participate in the online WITF Written Spelling Bee, with the top scorers moving on to the WITF Grand Championship Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 18. The winner of that competition will represent central Pennsylvania in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May.

This year's spelling bee was the first open to the public since the 2019-20 school year. Twenty-five of the school's top spellers participated, and the bee lasted for five rounds. Four students competed in a spell-off for fifth place/alternate, which was won by Ben's sixth-grade brother, Andrew Rimert.
