Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell, and Michelle Kichline have named Michelle Gallo the new director of human resources for the County of Chester. Gallo comes to the county from Lancaster County Government, where she served as the human resources director since March 2021. She previously spent nearly 12 years with Lancaster General Health, which is now part of Penn Medicine.

Gallo will oversee a department of 17 employees, which administers benefits to 2,400 county employees, recruits talent, develops wellness and training programs, and ensures the county complies with workplace safety regulations.

Gallo graduated from Millersville University, where she earned an undergraduate degree and a Master of Business Administration. She is married and has a teenage daughter.
