Landmark Exhibit Opening Slated

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D), 204 N. Prince St., Lancaster, will host the landmark exhibition "Arte de La Borinqueña." The exhibition will be on display in the college's Main Gallery from Tuesday, Jan. 17, through Friday, March 10.

The exhibition opening will be held on Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. and will include a talk with Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, an award-winning graphic novelist and creator of the superhero La Borinqueña. People of all ages are welcome.

Through the medium of a serialized comic, Miranda-Rodriguez has amplified and highlighted the importance of telling stories about Puerto Rico's history, exploring present-day social and environmental issues, and celebrating the diversity of the Puerto Rican diaspora. La Borinqueña launched in 2016 under Miranda-Rodriguez's studio, Somos Arte, where he serves as creative director and is a noted philanthropist.

The opening event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit http://www.pcad.edu.
