Zachary Reed of Manheim was named Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 11. Reed is a member of the men's track and field team at Lebanon Valley College, Annville.

Reed started the indoor season with an event win and a third-place finish at the Diplomat Open. The senior won the 60-meter hurdles running the 20th-fastest time in the nation this year at 8.50 seconds. His time is the fastest in the MAC, fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and eighth in AARTFC.

Reed then ran a career-best time of 23.61 seconds in the 200-meter to finish third. His time is fifth in the MAC and 15th in the region. He also ran a leg on the team's 4x400-meter relay team.

Reed is a graduate of Manheim Central High School. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in global studies and international business and political science.
