Donation Presented To York 4-H Program

Local farmer Gloria Eisenhour of Cedar Hill Farms recently directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America's Farmers Grow Communities donation to 4-H Clubs of York County.

4-H Clubs of York County will use the funds to offset the costs of a needed HVAC update to the 4-H Center. During the course of a year, the center hosts 283 4-H club meetings, events, roundups and sales. During that same time, the center hosts 224 external events, including health screenings, concerts, weddings and even large family reunions.

In 2022, Bayer Fund revamped the America's Farmers Grow Communities program, making it easier for farmers across the country to find and fund the organizations and institutions that keep their communities thriving. The changes included doubling the individual donations to $5,000, up from $2,500 in previous years, to provide a greater impact on rural communities.

For more than a decade, America's Farmers Grow Communities has partnered with farmers to direct funds to programs and organizations that contribute to their communities' health and vibrancy, such as food banks, schools and youth agriculture programs. Since the America's Farmers program began in 2010, the initiative has awarded nearly $65 million to such programs.

Farmers can enroll for the opportunity to direct a 2023 Grow Communities donation starting in August. To learn more about the enrollment process and the America's Farmers program, visit http://www.americasfarmers.com.
