GEARS, 600 E. High St., Elizabethtown, will offer several activities to the community.

The 2023 Elizabethtown-area facility scheduling meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. This is a mandatory meeting for leagues, associations and groups interested in utilizing Elizabethtown Borough, West Donegal Township, Mount Joy Township or Elizabethtown Area School District athletic fields and facilities. Organizations should have a representative attend to review regulations and facility stipulations and to discuss facility requests. Attendees should bring specific dates, times and field requests to the meeting for consideration. Zumba Gold will be offered on Wednesdays, Feb. 1 to March 22, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center gym. This aerobics-type class is geared to deconditioned people, beginner exercisers and active older adults.

GEARS will offer an Indoor Field Hockey Clinic for beginner players on Saturdays, Feb. 4 to March 11, from 8 to 9 a.m. for children in kindergarten through second grade and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. for third- through fifth-graders in the GEARS Community Center gym. The clinic will focus on teaching the basics of field hockey through a variety of drills, fun competitions and small games. Hockey sticks and balls will be available for use. Shin guards are recommended. The fee includes a T-shirt and mouth guard.

Game Changer Canine Training will be held on Mondays, Feb. 6 to March 27, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, 800 E. High St., Elizabethtown. The group training will feature fun games and exercises that teach concepts and skills to help dogs better cope with the real-life situations. The training will focus on calmness, optimism, impulse control and disengagement from distractions and more. This activity is open to people age 16 and up.
