Library Posts January Schedule

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, has posted its upcoming programs. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are free and require registration by visiting http://www.mslibrary.org or calling 717-653-1510.

The library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

The annual Mount Joy Rotary Community Shredding Event will be held at the library on Saturday, April 1, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Activities will include story times for families at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 11 to 26; Fun Fort Friday for families on Jan. 13 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, Jan. 23, at 10:30 a.m.; and Fun Family Bingo for people age 7 and up on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m.

Three activities have been planned especially for homeschoolers age 7 and up. For each program, identical sessions will be held on a Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and a Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The programs will be Homeschool Art Class on Jan. 12 and Jan. 17, Homeschool STEM on Jan. 19 and Jan. 24, and Homeschool History Mystery Jan. 26 and Jan. 31.

The Winter Reading Program will be held from Jan. 23 through Monday, Feb. 27. Bingo cards may be picked up at the library.

A puzzle swap is available at the library. Patrons may bring a puzzle to give away and take a puzzle.

Adults are invited to participate in the winter reading challenge, Cozy Up and Read Bingo. Through February, individuals may pick up a bingo game sheet at the library, complete five challenges in a row, and submit their completed sheet to the library to earn a small prize and to be eligible for a grand prize drawing on Wednesday, March 1.

Other activities for adults will be Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Jan. 23 at 1 p.m., with no registration is necessary; Make-It Monday - "Macrame with Jazmynn" on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m.; and Book Discussion Group - Lit Lovers, discussing "Klara and the Sun" by Kazuo Ishiguro on Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Learn to Waltz will be offered on Monday, Jan. 30, at 6 p.m. Library staff member Jazmynn and her husband, Harrison, will lead the class. Harrison is a former instructor with Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
