Trauma Informed Initiative Posted

The City of Lancaster announced the launch of its Trauma Informed Community Initiative in partnership with Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. Free trainings will be held monthly through May.

A trauma-informed community is one that establishes and promotes healing so that people can be healthy enough to sustain opportunity and realize their full potential. Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health will provide trainings for organizations and companies, and the City of Lancaster will offer trainings for Lancaster residents so that together people can build a trauma-informed community.

Trainings will include an overview of trauma and its impact on a person, as well as resiliency, withstanding crises and coping effectively with trauma. Additional trainings will be available to help residents train their neighbors and their networks on trauma-informed principles.
